In 2021, pig iron and crude steel output will be 868.57 million tons and 1,033.79 million tons, down 4.3 percent and 3.0 percent year-on year respectively. The output of steel (including recycled materials) was 1,336.67 million tons, up 0.6% year on year.
According to data released by the General Administration of Customs on January 14, China exported 66.895 million tons of steel in 2021, up 24.6% year on year; Accumulated imports of 14.268 million tons of steel, 29.5% less than last year; The import of iron ore and ore concentrate was 112.4315 million tons, the amount was 184.674 billion US dollars, the quantity decreased by 3.9% year-on-year, but the amount increased by 49.3% year-on-year.
By region, in the first 11 months of 2021, the top five provinces in China's crude steel output are: Hebei province (204.2981 million tons), Jiangsu Province (109.2296 million tons), Shandong Province (7.03779 million tons), Liaoning Province (68.8097 million tons) and Shanxi Province (62.120200 million tons).
